5 Things: 4 things and a Giveaway Edition

Happy Friday! Hope you all survived the Black Friday, Cyber Monday and all the other shopping madness that seems to go one this time of year with all your wits in tact. Okay, let's get to this week's "Five Things," shall we?

1) "The Prayer" by Helene Fischer and Andrea Bocelli. As usual, I'm probably a little late to the game on this one but I had not idea Helene Fischer had such a voice! She pairs well with the incomparable Andrea Bocelli to whom I could listen all day long (no exaggeration). Just a beautiful song for a few moments of peace in your day.

2) "What I Learned From Ballet" has been an amazing series so far here at 'the ajennda!' If you haven't already, check out the wonderful stories by the guest authors who shared their insights and passion for dance: Nicole LaBonde, Lauren Kirchmyer, Taylor Gordon, and Lorry Perez.
P.S. If you would like to contribute to the series send me a note via the "Contact" page or e-mail jenn {at} theajennda {dot} com.

3) Find a local Nutcracker performance and go! Speaking of ballet, it's always a good time to support the arts! Not to mention that the arts enrich lives (see the above!) and provide a couple hours of escapism in the mad rush of December. This year I'm checking out a smaller dance company's show that I haven't seen before to make things more interesting. What about you?

4) Sweet Potato Baked Oatmeal So, yes, I'm the one who was Googling "sweet potato and oatmeal recipes" this week and look what I found! It's pretty darn amazing and very nice for a cold winter morning. I didn't have any of the extracts or the Stevia so I substituted maple syrup and the results were delicious. I'll definitely be making this one again.

 5) P.S.-You're Invited . . .: 40+DIY Projects for All of Your Fashion, Home D├ęcor&Entertaining Needs by Erica Domesek. Looking for some "art therapy" this December or a gift for the crafter who has everything? I think I might have a solution for you. Erica's craft ideas are a lot of fun and many include making some old stuff new again with paint, stickers or even just a Sharpie. In fact, I tried her Mercury Glass tutorial last weekend and the results were far beyond expectations. (Now I'm looking for more stuff to spray paint!) Best of all, you can win a copy with the entry form below. Best of luck!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Okay, that's all for now. Have a wonderful weekend!
